Client: Cambridge City Council
Programme: 22 months
Description: Extensions, Re-modelling and Refurbishment
Brandon Court was originally a sheltered housing scheme built in the 1970s that provided rented accommodation in central Cambridge.
Lengard was appointed by Cambridge City Council to build 2 new extensions and remodel to provide 30 self contained one and two bedroom dwellings for elderly residents.
The project was completed to meet BREEAM very good standards. Sustainable features included a grey water recycling scheme and solar PV cells to the roof. Due to the close proximity to local residents, newsletters were delivered giving site updates and we maintained an excellent relationship with the neighbours.
The Brandon Court redevelopment included new mechanical and electrical services with energy efficient plant and equipment to meet current living standards. The new courtyard allows residents to relax in the fresh air and space to entertain family and friends.
