Behind our excellent health & safety record is the solid practice and procedure that is ingrained within the company´s working culture. A procedure that eradicates doubts and provides confidence that Lengard´s working environment is a safe working environment for all employees, sub-contractors, residents & end-users. Every site manager in Lengard is accredited to CITB SMSTS level.
Lengard are a full member of Eastern Builders Safety Group (EBSG). EBSG are a non-profit making organisation of constructors, funded solely by its members, working collaboratively in sharing experience and expertise to protect and reinforce our high standards already achieved. EBSG deliver independent site inspections, help formulate and deliver safety training and toolbox talks and provide specialist advice on risk assessment and Health & Safety methodology.
More strategically, EBSG implement performance reviews and communicate industry best practice and amendments to existing legislation. The inspection reports are transmitted directly, on the day to our director in charge of health and safety as well as to the appropriate line managers. Also, the principal of the group sits on our own safety committee.
The performance reviews are analysed quarterly and benchmarked against the other members in the group and nationally. This method of securing this core function is by no means the most cost effective Health & Safety solution, but does provide clear and uncomplicated lines of communication that deliver expert industry guidance.
EBSG provides the same service across all the members of the group, which involves the utilisation of many more individual specialist inspectors than if each contractor worked separately. This provides access to a greater depth of expertise.
