Lengard converted and extended No.6 Langley Street, a 4 storey mid terraced commercial building which neighbours the famous Pineapple dance studios in Covent Garden, London.
Access to the building was restricted; Langley Street is extremely narrow with limited pedestrian pathways providing the only access to site.
Lengard constructed a gantry and crane above the entrance, to avoid blocking access through Langley Street. Significant structural works included the removal of the concrete roof and adaption of existing steel frame to accept the steel structure for the new roof top extension. The lift shaft was demolished and a new shaft constructed for a DDA compliant lift. Each floor was temporarily supported and re-cast to be supported by the new shaft walls.
Lengard also replaced all windows and created a new entrance and reception area.
