Lengard are delighted to have been appointed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to renovate 35 Kew Green, a vacant residence to be let to the private market.
The project forms part of Phase 1 of their Estates 2020 Programme which seeks to rationalise and use the existing residences to put money back into Kew, a charitable organisation and non-departmental public body. Whilst the building itself is not listed, it forms part of the Estate at Kew, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a Grade 1 Listed Park and Garden, and is situated near the curtilages of Grade 2 Listed structures.
Works comprise the reconfiguration of the house to provide 3no double bedrooms (one with en-suite), new living/dining area and new bathroom, new services and some external landscaping.
Where possible the building’s historical fabric and original features are being retained.
During the tender period additional works at the nearby Jodrell Laboratory and the Herbarium were added.
