Lengard have recently completed new build works at Coombes Croft Library, in Tottenham, for the London Borough of Haringey, funded by the BIG Lottery Fund.
Lengard were employed to carry out the full refurbishment of the library and build two new extensions, one at the front which forms the new DDA compliant entrance, and an extension at the rear to create two new meeting rooms, a computer room, kitchen, public toilet facilities and a new boiler room.
The extensions create nearly double the floor space, allowing greater capacity for the public and the library facilities, which is now better placed to provide a wider range of facilities and meeting areas for the community and areas for local councillors to hold their surgeries.
Whilst works were completed the library took residence in premises owned by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, in order that the work could be completed swiftly.
An underground culvert roof was incorporated into the design of the building, and a glass floor panel has been fitted which enables it to become a key feature of the building.
