Project Description

The Four Corners Studio, an educational outpost of Channel 4 TV on Roman Road, occupies the ground and basement levels of a Victorian industrial building.

Lengard were engaged to bring the studio up to date, converting it from a gloomy Victorian unit into a bright, inspiring space.

A single-storey extension was demolished and replaced with a light and airy structure complete with a grass roof; the public gallery was reconfigured and redecorated to provide a showcase for students’ work; the ground floor had resembled a maze but, with modifications, has been transformed into a functional, open plan space capable of accommodating wheelchairs; an enclosed courtyard has been created to provide a restful space for staff, and the basement darkrooms were redecorated.
