Project Description
Lengard were engaged to reconfigure nine shop units, on the 2nd and 3rd floors, to form one large, two-storey retail outlet. Additionally, we converted existing plant rooms and constructed a steel-framed rooftop extension to provide 4th floor office and storage space, and constructed a new lift shaft to serve all levels.
Works included cutting out of RC slabs at three levels for a new lift shaft and staircases, involving heavy temporary propping. 11 tonnes of new steel supports were installed throughout to strengthen the floors together with 800mm2 of blockwork walls.
Lengard were responsible for all the shell and core works, fitting out the back-of-house and staff facilities, and installing the new shop fronts in readiness for the clients´ own specialist contractors to carry out the corporate retail fit-out.
