Description: Extension and Refurbishment Works
Lengard was appointed to carry out the extension to the Victorian built School as part of a constructive relationship with Hackney Learning Trust over a ten year period. The project included phased refurbishment, fit-out, complete service renewal and alterations to the fully functional primary school. New build construction of the extension included providing more classrooms, meeting halls and staff rooms.
Pitched roofing Apprentices working towards NVQ were hired throughout the project offering them an opportunity to develop their practical skills. Continuing to remain sustainable Lengard installed a solar panel to the roof which as well offers financial benefits and educates students on renewable energy.
Lengard’s Site Manager made the best use of school holidays to complete the main extensions to the School and carried out weekly meetings to communicate the latest construction updates with teachers, students and parents.
The Hackney Learning Trust honoured Lengard with The Green Heroes Award for its environmental footprint and was also recognised as a specially commended school supportive service. In addition to modernising the School Lengard also generated income for the School to purchase sports equipment by recycling the materials and offering the site welfare cabins as a meeting room for the school’s cycle club, after the project is completed.
BREEAM Very Good.
