Personal Development
Lengard are committed to providing excellent training opportunities to people interested in a career as construction professionals in either the site management or surveying disciplines. Trainees are offered a structured work-based training plan linked to an appropriate formal course leading to a recognised qualification. Experience will be gained across all departments of the company alongside the main area of training, such as estimating, buying, time on site and Health & Safety, to ensure a solid grounding in the construction management process. Lengard´s varied portfolio of work and clients offers a unique means of entry into a rewarding career. A personal development plan and appraisal is implemented and monitored annually to ensure each employee is satisfied and challenged by their individual role. We would also be interested to hear from persons who may already be in training and considering a change of direction.
Graduate Training
Neil
Lengard has an active policy of employing trainee surveyors and site managers, and takes pride in being able to invest in the future of the industry.
Opportunities exist for undergraduates and graduates. We sponsor students through their degrees and offer valuable work experience throughout the course of their degree; typically the trainee will undertake a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Building on a day release basis. Throughout his/her course, the trainee will be given experience in all aspects of the business and will be appointed to a training mentor who, as an active part of the Lengard management team, will offer guidance, advice and hands on training.
As well as following the graduate route, opportunities also exist for trainee site managers, usually with a trade background, who, through the mentoring process combined with day release CIOB site management courses, can build their careers with Lengard.

More and more companies are taking steps to look after the welfare and well-being of their employees. Some organisations provide free flu vaccinations, private health care and gym membership. Lengard have decided on a more proactive approach to looking after their employees. They invited David Harvie (Personal Trainer) to offer advice and help with their staff’s fitness objectives. This service was made available to all members of staff and was entirely voluntary.
